A Day You’ll Never Forget
At COZY we’re all about creating experiences that aren’t just about ticking off sights—they’re about diving deep into a place and making memories that stick with you. Let us take you through one of those days we had in Beijing, where every moment was a blend of luxury, history and pure adventure.
We kicked off our day at the Bvlgari Hotel Beijing and let me tell you, waking up here is a dream. We started with a fantastic breakfast that set the tone for the day—think fresh pastries, local delicacies and coffee that could wake up the dead. It was the perfect mix of indulgence and comfort, making sure we were fueled up and ready for the day ahead.
A Perfect Start at Bvlgari Beijing
Morning Vibes in the Hutongs
After that amazing breakfast, we headed out to explore the Hutongs, Beijing’s iconic alleyways that are like stepping into another world. Our guide, Jerry—who felt more like a friend than a guide—led us through these narrow lanes, sharing stories and pointing out hidden gems along the way. And then we met “the Cricket Man.” This guy has spent most of his life in the Hutongs, and he’s got this incredible love for crickets. Yep, you heard that right. He invited us into his home for a very nice teatime, where he showed off his cricket collection, showed all the magazines he was featured on it and told us stories that gave us a real feel for life in these historic neighborhoods. It was such a cool, unexpected start to our day.
From the Heart of Modern China to Imperial Splendor
Leaving the Hutongs behind, Jerry took us to Tiananmen Square. It’s one of those places that’s bigger and more intense than you can imagine—a true symbol of modern China. After soaking in the energy there, we made our way to the Forbidden City. Walking through its massive gates was like stepping back in time. Jerry’s stories brought the place to life in a way that made us see the history behind the walls. Every corner we turned, there was something new to marvel at, and by the end of it, we were completely blown away by the sheer scale and splendor of it all.
Chilling at Jingshan Park
After the epic history lesson at the Forbidden City, we needed some time to just relax and soak it all in. So, we crossed the street to Jingshan Park, which is like a peaceful green escape in the middle of the city. We took a stroll through the beautifully manicured gardens, enjoying the calm after the buzz of the city.
Culinary Magic in a Hutong Courtyard
As the day started to wind down, we headed back to the Hutongs for what might have been the best part of the day—a private cooking class. We started by hitting up a local market with a skilled chef, picking out fresh ingredients. Then, back in the cozy courtyard of a traditional Hutong home, we got hands-on with making dumplings and other classic Chinese dishes. The atmosphere was intimate and fun, making it feel more like a gathering of friends than a formal class. And the food? Absolutely delicious. There’s something so satisfying about eating a meal you helped create, especially when it’s in such a unique and historic setting.
Ending on a High Note
After a day full of amazing experiences, we returned to the Bvlgari Hotel Beijing, where a relaxing massage was waiting for us. It was the perfect way to wind down after all the excitement, leaving us feeling refreshed and ready for whatever came next.
